Notes: French poet and playwright. A prolific poet and occasional dramatist, he was linked to Victor Hugo , to the poets of Parnassus and to the Symbolist poets. He will be internationally remembered for the words to the Christmas carol "Un Flambeau, Jeanette, Isabella" also known as "Bring a Torch, Jeanette, Isabelle" which he wrote in 1901.
