Notes: | Scholar and musician he established a style of performing Tudor polyphonic music that broke new ground in the 1970s, and has now become mainstream. A composer of carols, anthems, hymns and psalm chants, he also provided some of the incidental music for the BBC drama series I Claudius (1976). |
